Retainers & Refunds

Please reach me at dani@danithenanny.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A retainer is a non-refundable deposit paid at the time of booking to officially secure your dates on my schedule. Because newborn care is planned weeks or months in advance, your retainer ensures that your reserved time is held exclusively for your family. Once your dates are confirmed, I turn away other inquiries and clients for those same hours.

The purpose of a retainer is to provide clarity and stability for both of us: you gain guaranteed support when you need it most, and I can dedicate my availability and planning to your family with confidence. It’s a standard practice in newborn and postpartum care, and it protects your booking while honoring the time I reserve just for you.

All retainers are applied toward your total balance—they are not an additional fee.

Booking Under 8 days

Short-term bookings are due in full at the time of booking, as these dates are rarely replaceable once reserved.

Bookings of 8 days or more

A 50% retainer is required at booking and is applied toward your total on your last invoice. The remaining 50% balance is due before care begins.

I understand that choosing newborn care—whether it’s a Rest & Restore session or overnight support—is a meaningful investment. It often comes with careful planning, thoughtful budgeting, and a deep desire to protect your own well-being and your baby’s. I don’t take that trust lightly.

When you reserve time with me, those hours are held exclusively for your family. I set aside my schedule, prepare for your visit, and turn away other parents who may be seeking the same support. Because it’s rarely possible to fill a cancelled spot on short notice, payments and retainers are non-refundable.

This policy isn’t about rigidity—it’s about making sure I can sustainably offer reliable, high-quality care to every family I serve. While payments are non-refundable, I do offer limited flexibility with advance notice whenever possible, such as transferring a session one time within a set window.

My goal is always to approach your care with respect, clarity, and compassion—honoring both your investment and the support you’re seeking during this important season.

If a pregnancy is lost before the third trimester, the retainer is refunded in full with heartfelt compassion.

For losses occurring during the third trimester or at birth, 10% of the retainer is refunded in recognition of the time reserved and the difficulty of rebooking those dates.

Every family’s journey is unique, and I approach these moments with deep care, gentleness, and respect.

Adoption and surrogacy plans can shift in ways no one anticipates, and I approach these situations with empathy and care. If a placement changes or falls through, retainer refunds are offered based on timing:

  • More than 60 days before the start date: Full refund
  • 59–30 days before the start date: 25% refund
  • Within 30 days: Retainer is non-refundable

This structure allows me to honor the emotional realities of unexpected changes while maintaining fairness around the time reserved specifically for your family.

For 2026, I offer a selection of thoughtful promotions and thank-you rewards for both new and returning clients. These include courtesies for written letters of recommendation I can feature as referrals, credits for Facebook reviews, referral gifts when someone you recommend books, and small social media appreciation credits.

A Note About Promotions, Courtesies & Special Offers

Supporting families during such an important season is meaningful work, and I love being able to extend small courtesies and thank-you gifts when it’s helpful and appropriate.

These offerings are never about gimmicks or pressure — they’re simply thoughtful ways of saying “thank you for trusting me with your little one.”

From time to time, I offer limited promotions, welcome offers, or referral thank-yous. Because I am a solo provider and reserve care time personally, these courtesies may be adjusted, limited, or updated as my schedule fills. They are designed with care, offered with sincerity, and applied with clarity, so there are never surprises.

To keep things simple and fair:

✨ All promotional credits are applied to future bookings
✨ Some offers may include a transferable gift option, and when they do — it will be clearly stated
✨ Credits and courtesies are valid within their stated time window
✨ Promotional offers cannot be combined unless a specific offer says otherwise
✨ Your care dates still require a signed agreement and retainer to secure them

Most importantly — any courtesy extended is always meant to feel like a genuine thank-you for your kindness, referrals, trust, and support of a small business building something meaningful for families.

If you ever have a question about a promotional offer or how it applies to your situation, I’m more than happy to talk through it — clarity and collaboration are core to the way I work with families.
